Thanks for visiting Tony's Home Page. I began building my home on the web soon after taking computer classes in my home state of Rhode Island. The classes were good but I still have much to learn as I continue to make home improvements. In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy your visit and that you will come back again. I also hope that you will take the time to explore some of the many rooms located in this house. You enter a room simply by clicking on its link. There are all kinds of great treasures hidden in these rooms. And if you seek them, you will find them! And finally, please feel free to sign the guest book located near the bottom of the page just before you leave. And never forget that you are always welcome here. The door is always open.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in..."

with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Zephaniah 3:17

"Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I will sing to the Lord,
I will sing; I will make music to the Lord, the God of Israel."

Judges 5:3

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains
and hills will burst into song before you, and all the
trees of the field will clap their hands."

Isaiah 55:12

"They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away."

Isaiah 51:11

"He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God."

Psalms 40:2 - 3

"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and
clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be

Whale Watching  -  I went on my first whale watching cruise years ago with my brother and his family. I had such a great time that I hope to go again some day. If you want to do something fun with the entire family then why not consider boarding the Cape Ann Whale Watch cruise that departs from Cape Ann, Massachusetts. "Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish.
But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah,
and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights."

Jonah 1:3 and 17

"From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. He said: 'In my
distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From the depths
of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.'"

Jonah 2:1 - 2

Astronomy  -  I have always enjoyed gazing at the stars on a clear, dark night. How can anyone not believe in the reality of a living God after witnessing such an awesome display? Learn what the Bible says about the heavens and the earth by clicking on any one of the stars in the image below.

Stars

"Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?"

Isaiah 40:26

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge."

Psalm 19:1 - 2

Fishing  -  I enjoy both fresh and salt water fishing. My favorite fish is ...ah... fried.

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Mark 1:17

Gardening  -  I have always enjoyed gardening. Vegetables just seem to taste better when you grow them yourself.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots
by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves
are always green. It has no worries in a year of
drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17:7 - 8

Garden of Prayer

"The Garden of Prayer" by Thomas Kinkade

"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs
in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden, like a
spring whose waters never fail."

Isaiah 58:11

"All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever."

1 Peter 1:24 - 25

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But
his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he
meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted
by streams of water, which yields its fruit in
season and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers."

Psalm 1:1 - 3

Baseball  -  Even though I do not always like to admit it, I am a Boston Red Sox fan. I have been waiting patiently all my life for them to win the World Series. Then in 2004, an unexpected thing happened. The Red Sox won the World Series by defeating the Cardinals four games to none in the best-of-seven series. Food seems to taste a little better now.

Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth Babe Ruth might have become the greatest player Boston would ever have, if not for what Red Sox fans could point to as the single worst event ever to occur in the team's history, in 1917. That year the team was purchased by one H. Harrison Frazee, a theatrical producer who loved baseball but loved Broadway more. He saw the Red Sox as a means of financing his theatrical operations, and began selling off all of his best players to Colonel Jacob Ruppert, owner of the New York Yankees, to raise cash for a number of Broadway ventures. Babe Ruth became victim to this practice in 1920, when Frazee sold him to Ruppert for $125,000.

Ruth led the Yankees to seven American League championships and four World Series titles. He led the league in home runs many times, and the 60 he hit in 1927 set a record for the 154-game season. (Roger Maris hit 61 home runs in a 162-game season in 1961.) Ruth's lifetime total of 714 home runs is second only to the 755 hit by Hank Aaron. With a .342 lifetime batting average for 22 seasons of play, many consider Babe Ruth the game's greatest player.

The Red Sox were devastated from the loss of Babe Ruth. They had won five of the first fifteen World Series, but would not even play in another for 28 years! Before 2004, they had not won a World Series since 1918.

"Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only
one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone
who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get
a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

1 Corinthians 9:24 - 25

"I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that
day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

2 Timothy 4:7 - 8
